Camp Expectations for Participants
This document outlines the guidelines and expectations for camp participants to foster a respectful, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Participation
Active participation in camp activities is expected. As a member of AdramaNation, you will:
1. Work one breakfast shift. Breakfast is served Monday through Friday. Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 10:30 a.m. You will need to arrive for your shift no later than 7:30 a.m. to prepare for service. Optional: bring your favorite apron to wear while you are on shift.
2. Provide 3 hours of interactivity. This is in addition to the breakfast shift. You may work three 1 hour shifts, one 1 hour shift and one 2 hour shift, or two 1.5 hour shifts. We have different options for interactivity from which you may choose. Interactivity will involve two or more campmates. You are expected to purchase and transport the necessary items to conduct your selected interactivity. For example, if you choose to work a Bloody Mary Breakfast shift, you will need to purchase the bloody mary fixings you intend to serve and bring them to playa or find someone else to bring them for you. You will then prepare the drinks and serve them. You should arrive at least half an hour early for your interactivity if it requires prep so you can start the interactivity on time.
3. Camp Set Up and Strike. You will need to participate in camp set up and/or strike. Everyone should prepare to assist in strike. If you do not set up, you must strike. Set up begins on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Strike begins on Friday, August 29, 2025. Most of strike will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025. If you will need to arrive late or leave early, please let us know and plan your strike assistance accordingly.
4. Art Car Set Up and Strike. We need volunteers to set up and strike the art car. If you don’t set up camp, we ask that you help us “skin” the art car. This activity will take place after the main shade structures are in place. Everything that gets put on the art car must come off. We will need assistance in striking the car which will take place early Sunday morning. This activity is less strenuous than the build or strike.
5. Adhere to SAP pass rules: These passes are only issued to those who are needed to set up the public part of the camp before gate opens. If you receive a SAP (early entrance pass), you are expected to be on playa on the date of your SAP and are required to be available in camp to complete camp tasks until gates open at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday.
6. Show up for your shifts. The playa is very distracting and exciting. You are responsible for showing up at the shifts you have selected. When you don’t, other camp mates have to pick up the slack. Be conscientious.
7. Attend camp meetings. There are three pre-playa camp meetings, 6/8/2025, 7/20/2025, and 8/10/2025. These will be held in person in New Orleans and via zoom. You should attend at least one and preferably all of them. There is a brief on playa meeting on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. followed by optional family dinner for camp.
8. Clean Up After Yourself/LNT. You are expected to clean up after yourself, which means washing your personal and interactivity dishes and disposing of trash. You should be doing “LNT” – leave no trace – sweeps around your tent and the camp daily. Before you leave the playa, you are responsible for demooping where your tent and vehicle were. This includes raking the ground and using a metal rake to pick up any loose metal debris or tent stakes.
9. Public Space Interaction. Please use our public spaces. Using these spaces together for cooking, eating, playing games, plotting your next great playa adventure, and socializing is important to fostering and nurturing our camp’s community and to making our camp inviting to others.
10. Code of Conduct: Follow the camp’s code of conduct located in the Camp Guide.
Dues – due by July 15, 2025
Everyone is expected to pay camp dues in the amount of $310.00 per person. Payment shouldONLYbe made to @Diane-Lundeen on Venmo. Last four numbers of the phone are 7190. Do not identify the transaction as a sale. If you do, you will be expected to pay the fee Venmo charges for this option. Dues are expected to be paid by July 15, 2025. If you do a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point. If you sell something, use this space to describe it in detail and tell us why we should make a purchase. Tap into your creativity. You’ve got this.
